The passenger ferry (ATM – Autoridad de Transporte Marítimo, operated under contract by Hornblower) is the budget way to reach Vieques and Culebra. While the following gives you general information, we suggest you visit the Puerto Rico Ferry website for current rates and to purchase tickets.
Routes and fares
| Route | Fare (one-way, adult) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Ceiba → Culebra | ~$2.25 | About 45–60 minutes; can sell out in high season |
| Ceiba → Vieques | ~$2.00 | About 45–60 minutes; cargo/passenger ferry |
Fares are heavily subsidized and change periodically – be sure to confirm current pricing before booking.
Terminal and reservations
The ferry terminal is in Ceiba, at the former Roosevelt Roads Naval Station grounds (Marina Dr, Ceiba, PR 00735) – not in Fajardo, a common visitor mix-up.
| Contact | Number |
|---|---|
| Reservations line | 1-800-981-2005 (phone hours limited – typically weekday mornings and early afternoons) |
| Ceiba terminal (alt. lines) | 787-863-0852 / 787-860-8618 / 787-497-7740 |
Ferry schedules, phone numbers, and reservation systems have changed operators and rules multiple times in recent years. Confirm the current price, schedule and booking method (online portal vs. phone vs. in-person) shortly before your trip – don’t rely on a screenshot from an old blog post.
