My Puerto Rican roots, years of returning to the island for vacations, and now living seasonally on the island shape the way I write about Puerto Rico for travelers who want more than a surface-level visit.
I now split my time between the continental U.S. and the Caribbean coast of Puerto Rico, where family, culture, and island life continue to shape my perspective.
I’m a retired Fortune 100 sales executive, creative marketer, lifelong traveler, and now a travel author. Born in New York City, raised in Los Angeles, and long based in Colorado, I bring both disciplined curiosity and personal heritage to every journey.
Puerto Rico, La Isla del Encanto, has always held a special place in my heart. Both my parents were born on the island before they met in New York City, married, and started a family.
That connection rekindled in 2013, when my daughter chose Puerto Rico for her 25th birthday celebration to reconnect with our roots. The salty sea air, the chorus of coqui frogs at dusk, and the warm hugs from family turned one trip into an annual pilgrimage.
With my father the eldest of 11 siblings and my mother the eldest of 13, the island is full of aunts, uncles, cousins, and generations of family who keep that connection alive.
For the past several years, I have explored mountains, rainforests, beaches, cayos, and coastal towns while sharing stories with locals, expats, family, and fellow travelers together.
My business background carries into my research today. For the past two years, I’ve focused much of my work on Act 60, Puerto Rico’s tax incentives program, digging into what it actually means in practice — both for mainland transplants weighing the move and for heritage Puerto Ricans navigating the same incentives back home. It’s the same on-the-ground approach I bring to every topic I cover on living, working, or investing on the island.
My goal is to help readers experience Puerto Rico with practical confidence and cultural respect — whether you’re planning a trip, considering a move, or exploring what Act 60 could mean for your future here.
